NDC Implementation Checklist

Use this checklist to plan, scope, and validate an NDC integration project.

1. Commercial Scope
- Confirm target airline partners and NDC program requirements.
- Define seller, aggregator, and airline responsibilities.
- Document required markets, currencies, languages, and payment methods.
- Confirm content scope: flights, bundles, seats, bags, meals, ancillaries, and branded fares.

2. Technical Readiness
- Identify target NDC versions and airline-specific schemas.
- Confirm authentication, certification, and sandbox access.
- Map shopping, pricing, booking, payment, ticketing, servicing, and reporting flows.
- Define logging, monitoring, retry, and reconciliation requirements.

3. Data Mapping
- Map offers, orders, passengers, segments, fares, taxes, ancillaries, and payment records.
- Define how NDC content will be normalized for existing frontends and back-office tools.
- Capture airline-specific variations and fallback behavior.

4. Operational Planning
- Define support ownership for failed bookings, order changes, refunds, and schedule changes.
- Prepare runbooks for common NDC failure scenarios.
- Train operations teams on new order and servicing workflows.

5. Launch Validation
- Complete end-to-end sandbox tests for shopping, booking, payment, ticketing, and servicing.
- Reconcile orders against airline records.
- Validate analytics, revenue reporting, and customer communications.
- Roll out by market, route, or airline partner with clear monitoring thresholds.
